MTN SIM CARD REGISTRATION AND PURCHASE RESUMPTION

One Wednesday afternoon in December 2020, James (name has been changed), the owner of a brand new

online recharge card company asked me over the phone "Is it possible for me to buy a sim card? I have been trying to get one for a long time now" 

Unable to buy a sim card, he will not start his online recharge business, which saddened him.

Many of our prospective clients as well as existing client were also in this situation due to the sim card sales and registration ban. This rule was announced by the NCC in December 2020 and since then, many have found it difficult to buy a new sim card or register an already purchased sim card. 

Now fast forward to May 2021, great news comes in for us all "MTN RESUMES SALES AND REGISTRATION OF SIM CARDS". This is really good news to everyone in the recharge card industry. 

An agent of ours took some time over the last weekend to confirm the authenticity of this new update and to our amazement, it turned out to be accurate.

While this is awesome news and a lot of steps forward, only selected MTN centres are allowed to sell and register sim cards at the time of this article being published.
